was born in 1937 in Delhi, India, and moved
to London to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
She has multiple careers
as a stage and screen actress, journalist, illustrator, cookbook
author and restaurateur. She has appeared in numerous radio
and television plays, on Broadway, and in films.
Among her recent acting experiences are

Peacock Spring on TV and
Chutney
Popcorn, a feature film. She is the author of several
books on Indian and Asian cuisine, and is currently the consultant
to Dawat, an Indian restaurant
in New York.
Ms Jaffrey was married to and divorced from
Saeed Jaffrey, also an actor, and has three childen --
Zia, Meera,
and
Sakina Jaffrey. She is remarried and now lives in New York City.
