I loved this book!
The simple text (mostly one line per page, short sentences) and the rich and
beautiful folk art eloquently capture the friendship between the elephant
and the dog. It is a sweetly told love story, and I loved the colorful
illustrations. There is so much to point out in the drawings in each page to
your young child.
I'm always a big proponent of sturdy board books for little hands (and mouths). I can see this book being in tatters in less than a week. The content, especially the breathtaking art deserve a much richer presentation - with textures, sounds, pop-ups for little ones to touch and feel and hear.
