I loved this book!
The simple text (mostly one line per page, short sentences) and the rich and
beautiful folk art eloquently capture the friendship between the elephant
and the dog. It is a sweetly told love story, and I loved the colorful
illustrations. There is so much to point out in the drawings in each page to
your young child.
Raj Ganesan lives in the Bay Area and loves telling
I'm always a big proponent of sturdy board books for little hands (and
mouths). I can see this book being in tatters in less than a week.
The content, especially the breathtaking art deserve a much richer
presentation - with textures, sounds, pop-ups for little ones to touch and
feel and hear.

This charming book is from the National Book Trust, which publishes lowcost books in many Indian languages. The language is simple and repetitive, perfectly suited to small children. The author, Badri Narayan is an artist who has had over 50 solo exhibitions, and obviously loves writing and drawing
